There are many options for starting a WAHM business. Many of them are scams, so you should be cautious when deciding which WAHM business to pursue.
As a work at home mom, time is your most precious asset. You want a business that takes as little time as possible, but still makes money. This is not to say that you do not have to work at an online business. You do, but you need a WAHM business that will operate with minimum attention once you set it up.
I have tested various types of Internet businesses for several years looking for the ideal one. I want a business that operates without requiring my full time attention. From my research, I decided that building a content website and using it to be an affiliate marketer is the ideal business.
Let’s talk about a content website. A content website contains interesting information about a topic that interests a group of people on the Internet. These people will visit your website to read the information (content) on your site. While they are on your website, they will click on links to products that you suggest. If they buy the product you recommend, you earn a commission.
You can also make money with a content website by placing Google AdSense ads on the pages of your website. When your readers read your pages, they see the AdSense ads and click on them. Each time a reader clicks an AdSense ad, you are paid a fee by Google. This is a form of affiliate marketing.
The beauty of this type of WAHM business is that once you set up your website, people keep coming to it. If you need to take a week off for a family vacation, viewers keep coming to your website and they keep clicking the links that pay you money. If the kids get sick, and you do not have time to work on the website, don’t worry. It will run itself until things are back to normal.
This is why I recommend a website over a blog. Blogging can be profitable, but building a website is a much better investment of your time. Blogs are very demanding on your time since blog readers expect to see new material on the blog on a regular schedule. Also, blogs are time sensitive and the newest entry is read, and the older entries are forgotten. On a website, the content is ageless. The reader can go to any page and read it without knowing whether it was written a year ago or yesterday. As a WAHM, invest your time in a website versus a blog.
How do you create a successful WAHM website?
